Family Protected by Healing Herbs, Relief, [Plaster]

Subject

Figure sculpture, American--20th century

Description

Plaster relief of a family of four. The father stands in the background with his wife in front of him carrying a baby. A small child stands in front of the mother in the foreground.

"In 1955 on such a wall of the Beaumont Memorial Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, Fredericks executed an aluminum group, The Family Protected by Healing Herbs. Dignified, elegantly decorative, and appealing in its sentiment, it, too, has been adopted by the hospital as its logo or emblem."
