Plaster relief of obverse side of medallion. Relief depicts a woman on her knees holding a pland in her hands. A small child is at her side with arms outstreatched. There are plants on both sides of the relief. Writing around the relief says "Mary Soper Pope Memorial Award, Cranbrook Institute of Science."
This relief is mounted on a wood round board that has a finish on it. It says on the tag that it was hung in the Fredericks' guest bathroom at there home.
