Description

Bronze relief of Eaton Eagle, small-scale with copper colored patina with the inscription "In honor of the men of this organization who gave their lives for their country"

"Free-form reliefs in metal upon a contrasting stone background, as seen in the Louisville doorway, where a favorite device of Fredericks's to enrich the flat planes and austere surfaces of twentieth-century architecture. He used it in a variety of places to express a variety of themes.

The War Memorial (1948) for the Eaton Manufacturing Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio, is an instance of its use in an interior space, where the sculpture and the list of names are to be seen at close range and the scale is necessarily small. In other instances it is used on a very large scale. Fredericks, Suzanne P. "Marshall M. Fredericks, Sculptor", Saginaw Valley State University, 2003. p. 5
