This relief medallion depicts the Saint Louis Gateway Arch and the state Capitol in the distance. The relief has the words "Gateway to the West" across the bottom.
Medallion was minted in 1965 bronze and silver, diameter was 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches. The medallion was issued by the National Park Service and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Association in connection with Eero Saarinen and Associates. This is the reverse of the medallion and is inscribed with "Gateway to the West".
