Description
Furniture for the great apes in the Holden Amphitheater and Great Ape House at the Detroit Zoological Institute.
Fredericks studied the orangutans, gibbons and chimpanzees at the zoo for months to determine their needs, selecting fiberglass and stainless steel for hygienic reasons and bright colors that the apes seemed to like.
Note: The building was replaced by a new primate center in the 1980s
